This week’s share

komatsuna.jpg

Hello all!!!

Yes, this is ACTUALLY a sneak peak at your shares this week. Keep in mind that Wednesday and Saturday may be slightly different, and that things may change slightly as the harvest allows.

But! You will all get basically a version of the following:

  • White Egg Turnip
  • White Russian Kale
  • Tatsoi
  • Purple Komatsuna (pictured above)
  • Napa Cabbage
  • Beets
  • Coriander
  • Oregano
  • Purslane
  • Garlic Scapes

YUM!! So keep those cabbage recipe ideas coming, we will need them for the near future.

Fruit! Will be blueberries and strawberries. Yes.

Also! For those cheesy share folks amongst us, your cheese this week will be…..

Crawford Cheese!!

From Twig Farm (raw cows’ milk/animal rennet, W Cornwall, VT)

A squidgy and delicate raw cows’ milk cheese from Twig Farm. Michael Lee, master cheesemaker sources the milk for this cheese from nearby Crawford Family Farm. The paste is semi-firm bordering on creamy the flavor is delightful and complex… milky, yogurty, and earthier and more vegetal as the paste nears the rind. The cheeses have a very unique and rustic look – small flat squares coated in the gray downy rind that is the calling card of the cellar at Twig Farm. Aged 60 days or more.

Enjoy. See y’all around the farm.

  1. the Napa cabbages were WAY too big. is it possible to harvest them sooner, when they’re smaller and can actually fit in a regular sized refrigerator?
