How great that we live in a neighborhood with a truck farm. When I see it on Van Brunt Street, it always make smile.
Now Ian Cheney and Curt Ellis, the “farmers” who started their garden in the back of a 1986 Dodge, are making a documentary out of it. (They have bonafides: They were co-creators of King Corn.)
But they need help raising funds. They’re trying to hit a $15,000 goal on kickstarter by June 10. So, on Sunday evening the lovely ladies of Home/Made cafe in Red Hook are hosting a fundraiser.
“We are picking a ‘truck farm’ red, and white to offer by the glass, and 100% of the proceeds will go to The Truck Farm,” they say. “We’ll have a few laptops so people can donate directly on kickstarter, and Ian and Curt will be showing some of the footage, along with some of their other films in the garden.”
No need to RSVP. Just come on down and drink for a good cause.
